Phone sleeve - two easy patterns

   

Abbreviations
st = stitch(es)
k = knit
p = purl

Material: for each sleeve at least 10 g wool (40 m / 44 yd + some leftover yarn in a contrasting color for the first sleeve, 8 ply), wooden button Ø 3 cm / 1.2 inch, four double pointed needles 3 (US 2-3), crochet hook 3 (US C/2-D/3), tapestry needle, sewing thread and needle.

Gauge: about 36 st = 10 cm (4 inch), knitted in rib stitch

Size: The sleeves stretch and adjust to any smart phone width. The length is easily adjustable.

Rib stitch: Knit alternately k1, p1

Edge stitch: Slip the first stitch of every needle without knitting or purling it. Slip it knitwise if you purled the last st of the previous row. (Insert the needle through the first stitch from front to back and slip the stitch off.) Slip it purlwise if you knitted the last st of the previous row. (Pass the needle under the yarn and insert it in the first st from right to left. Slip the st off and pass the yarn over to the back of the work.)

Pattern 1: phone sleeve with bright edge

Size: 7 cm (2,75 inch) wide but stretchable, 13.5 cm (5.3 inch) tall.

Cast on 52 st and and distribute them over three needles.
Knit in the round in rib stitch until the length is 11.5 cm (4.5 inch).
Continue in contrasting color until sleeve measures 13.5 cm (5.3 inch). Then bind of.

For the loop crochet a cord of 12.5 cm (4.9 inch) of knitting yarn strengthened with two strands of sewing thread. Attach to the back of the sleeve.

Attach the button to the sleeve with sewing thread for strength. After that attach it again with knitting yarn for beauty.

Sew the bottom together.

Finishing: Weave in ends and block.

Pattern 2: phone sleeve with flap

Size: 7 cm (2.75 inch) wide but stretchable, 11.5 cm (4.5 inch) tall.

Cast on 21 st and knit in rib stitch until 6.7 cm (2.6 inch) length.
Add 29 st and distribute 50 st over three neeldes.
Knit in the round in rib stitch until the length is 11.5 cm (4.5 inch) and bind of.

For the loop crochet a cord of 10 cm (4 inch) of knitting yarn strengthened with two strands of sewing thread. Attach to the back of the flap.
Attach the button to the sleeve with sewing thread for strength. After that attach it again with knitting yarn for beauty.

Sew the bottom together.

Finishing: Weave in ends and block.
